Arranged by Josef Stastny

Saul is a dramatic oratorio in three acts written by George Frideric Handel, with a libretto by Charles Jennens. Composed in 1738, the work includes the famous "Dead March," the standard funeral march of the armed forces of Germany. It was also performed at the funeral of George Washington, during the funeral procession of Stonewall Jackson, and played many times during the journey of the body of Abraham Lincoln. In 2015, it was performed at the state funeral of Lee Kuan Yew, first Prime Minister of Singapore.

The original music was written for organ, trombones, flutes, oboes and timpani. It makes an effective arrangement for brass trio, which can be brought out and performed for solemn occasions where not too much volume is desired. Included are bass or treble clef parts for trombone/baritone on the bottom.
